Hello, Im Rob Bean, the owner of "General Awesome" the Streetfighters Spondon Race Bike, the bike ig a GSXR Turbo frame, Thought I had best join and say hello. My bike is currently in the tear down phase of its winter improvement scheme ready for my new season starting at the end of March, I will try to keep updates and pics of my progress on here.
Also if anybody has any questions about anything bike or race related, or just about taking one on track feel free to give me a shout, Im always happy to help out :-)

welcome to the site Rob, how does a Spondon do for racing then, obviously that's where the roots are but does it perform compared to production stuff?

It works pretty well as it goes, I came 3rd in a National Championship last year, (i would of won if I had decent luck, engine problems etc) I race against any type of bike built before 2002, so R1's GSXR's blades, rsv's 996's etc and handling wise I certainly dont struggle, to be honest its only the old engine tech that was slowing me down lastyear, thats getting fixed this year with a 1216 kit and a slipper clutch, im also putting a quick shifter on and a moremodern shock. Theres no reason I wont stay near the front of thegrid this year with it ;D
